We last met one year back. At most. Last year. I remember here, this place. We must make our house a place where always, 24 hours, Krishna namam will be going on. Thereby, you will achieve enormous benefit. Now we must realize that. Where the devotees always sing the glories of the Lord, Supreme Lord, and of the devotees, that place should be rememberable place. We can remember it always. Now, I will tell you. Vyasadeva, Vyasadeva wrote Srimad Bhagavatam and Ramayana was written by Valmiki. Valmiki, from the beginning, from his birth, he wrote. But he says, our Vyasadeva says

gurv-arthe tyakta-rajyo vyacarad anuvanam padma-padbhyam priyayah

Gurv-arthe. For the service of his Guru he left the luxuries and the throne, went to forest with Sita and Laksmana. When the time for incarnation has come, Ramacandra should sit on the throne. Dasaratha maharaja has become old. So he thought: “I am too old. I should not live long. So I want to do this job and go away.” So, his guru fixed the date when it should be done. On the same day early in the morning after taking bath, Ramacandra went to Dasaratah maharaja to offer his prostrations and get his blessings upon his head. He saw Dasaratha maharaja was senseless. And now Kaikeyi, the mother, where Dasaratha Maharaja used to stay. She said: “Rama! For satya sandha, what the father has told, you must obey it. The father long, long ago promised me to give two boons. I said: “not now, later on””. Now, when the time came Rama will be the King, sit on the throne as eldest son. Immediately Kaikeyi asked two boons. “Now, my Lord you have promised two boons. Now give me those two boons”. Then he thought, there must be some danger is coming. Now Kaikeyi said that Bharata my son. Rama is not her son. No. Rama is the son of Kaushalya. Three queens. Rama was born to Kaushalya and Bharata was born to Kaikeyi. At the time of marriage Kaikeyi was were beautiful. And so he promised that his son will sit on the Ayodhya throne but now she doesn't remember this, now she asks that my son Bharata should sit 14 years on the throne and Rama should stay fourteen years in the forest. When he heard this, Dasartha Maharaja when he heard this, he fell down senseless and he fell like that. He did not get up and he died. Now, he is not talking, what is the matter? Then Kaikeyi said this is the matter, “I asked, when he heard the boon, now he has gone senseless”. “Then I say go to forest, as you please you are satya sandha.” “I will go to forest to please my father. It is the order of my father that I must go to”. Now he went. He wanted tell this to Kaushalya, the mother and others Laksmana and Sita. Laksmana said: “I will come with you. Unless I come who will look after you? Fruits, roots and vegetables I will brought. They will be your food for 14 years. Our food also”. When Sita said: “I will go”.  “No, no no. You should not come. You should stay here. I will come. After 14 years I will return. And if you come, you must undergo difficulties. There is no suitable place to sleep, and cooking to eat and in  rainy season rest is under the tree. Under a tree you will have to sit. As a person remaining in the forest live, I shall live like this.” But it was not the time, alright we will go there, construct a house there, and give food, send food from here, roti. ... Not that. “People in forest, how they live we have to live.” Now, Rama walking he told all the ladies and his guru and others also that I am going. “I am now going because it is the order of my father.” He went away. There he was staying, in Citrakuta. A small forest. There he was staying. Now Bharata, he returned form his grandfathers house. Bharata, Satrughna. Two brothers they returned. Now they heard this. Then he said: “What is this? I will sit on the throne? Why don't Rama. Rama must sit. His throne. He must sit. I will never sit! Anyhow you go.” Rama from Citrakuta. All the leaders of the place headed to there and went to Rama. “Rama I have come to invite you to return the throne . In your place I will never sit there. It is your place. You must sit. I will go undergo the forest difficulties, I will go there. I will remain in the forest for you. I will go away.” Then Rama said: “Bharata, who has ordered you to go to forest? None. Bharata, Dasaratha maharaja said to you to rule Ayodhya for 14 years. Who said this? Dasaratha maharaja. Where is Dasaratha maharaja now? Is he now to cancel his order? Who can cancel the order? He must cancel. But he is not alive. Then who will do this job.” Then Bharata could not reply to it. “Who has ordered? It is the order of Dasaratha Maharaja, the father. Your father. Now is your father alive to change the order? Now what can be done.” He said: “All right I will go there, but I will never remain in Ayodhyas throne. I will come away from there. In another place there I will construct the throne. There I will sit. And whatever the food you take and how you live there as a worldly person I also will be down I will sit on the throne with that, and my food will be that. My dress will be. i will no dress. For 14 years though I am king I will not dress. Like you.” And he obliged: “Yes brother when the day is completed 14 years, next day you must be here unless you will never see me. I will die”. “Yes I will come”. Now, Rama he went from  there to different places. He killed so many demons and at last while he was there Surpanakha, sister of Ravana, she came there and saw Rama, Lakshmana and beautiful Sita. A beautiful Sita. What Rama will enjoy in the forest. Now she has a plot, she said: “Rama I am the sister of Ravana. Sita, Sita that you  have married but Sita has no laksmi. Merry me.” Ramacandra he awaited that question because  Rama said: “I have married. My wife is there, Sita. So how can I give up Sita. You go to Laksmana. He is not married.” When she went Laksmana and told this, Laksmana removed his sword and cut the nose. She is called Surpanakha. We have gone there. It is at the bank of Godavari. Surpanakha. Why Surpanakha? Nose was cut. She wanted to take revenge, so she went back to Ravana and told  Ravana. “What is the Lanka, what is this kingdom, what enjoyment in this? Without Sita you can not enjoy this. You must bring Sita. And I will tell you a plot. Marica, consult the Marica.” And Marica, Ravana called Marica. “You should go there. As a dear, suvarna mriga. Golden deer. If Sita sees it, Sita wants to have it and you be there and from there you fly speedily and if you fly Rama will follow you. He will ask Laksmana to sit there and I will ask Ravana and he will take for  there. As a sanyasi go.” Now, ravana as a sannyasi was standing in distance. Marica came. Marica was going round by round around this dharmasala, and she was tempted by this beauty of mriga. She wants to have that mriga. Rama said “it is maya mriga. it is actually not truthful mriga. It is maya mriga. Why you are fond of it?” “No, no! Se how beautiful it is. I must have it. You please bring it.” Then , “all right, you must be very careful. Stay here. Laksmana is here. Don’t send Laksmana anywhere. You wait here. I think some plot is going on . So, I will go. Any anyhow I will kill. By return whether you will be here or not I cannot see. If Laksmana is here you will be here.” Asked Laksmana: “You should not move from here one inch out.” Laksmana said “yes I will follow your order”. That deer ran fast and going a long distance. The deer said Ramaaaa(Laksmana) and died shot by Rama. Now here Laksmana thought Rama will never call that he is Laksmana. He now called not Rama but Laksmana. Because Rama is there: Laksmanaaa! Then wrong thing happened. Now Rama must not be there: you please go Laksmana. Laksmana says: “there will be no dangers to Rama. No, don’t’ fear. He is Supreme Godhead. None can able to kill him, cause he can not be killed.” “No! No! You want to play mischief with me.” “I don’t think that.” “You must go.” And he said “All right! I will go.” Three lines, one, two three. “At any cost you should not cross these three lines. Then you will be alright. No danger.” So saying he went away. And now Ravana came. Ravana came: “bhavati bhiksam dehi”. Because he is a Sanskrit scholar. Now he is a sanyasi. Bhavati bhiksam dehi. And she thus saw: such a scholar, sanyasi has come to my ashram. Now, what have I with me? I have nothing. Only some fruits, some fruits she wants to give. But according the advise of Laksmana she is not crossing the lines. She is not crossing. Standing this side of these lines. But Ravana knows that. Ravana. Then he invited Sita to come on. He wanted to bring Sita outside the lines. He cannot go beyond the lines – he will die. Now Sita came. Crossing the lines she was giving. When she was giving he caught hold of Sita. Immediately went to his chariot and went to Lanka. On the way Jatayu, big bird Jatayu was seeing that Ravana is now taking away Sita. Now, he came to fight with Ravana. But with Ravana, how can anybody fight with Ravana? Ravana removed his sward and chopped off his two wings. When wings were cut off he fell down. There Sita left some ornaments. She thought that anyhow they will some and search for me and they will come here, and till then he will be alive. …………….. And they will come, funerals will be done by Rama and Laksmana. Actually, Ravana went away with Sita. And there he fell down. Rama was crying, Laksmana  was crying. Both were crying. He now said: “don’t cry. This is not time to cry. Anyhow you have to undergo difficulties . There will be great fight. Unless you can not kill you must cross to Lanka, cross the ocean and go to Lanka there the fight him. You will beat the Ravana. Now have courage. Don’t be afraid. No fear”. Then Rama had friendship with Hanuman, Angada and all the monkeys of the forest were invited and there was a great meeting. Now Hanuman and Angada they said: “who will go to lanka. The Sita is now in Lanka? One must go to Lanka. And ascertain the news whether Sita is alive.” Now, monkeys all tried. They can not. Thereby only Hanuman said: “I will go. By Rama’s blessing I will go.” So he went. He crossed. When crossing Lankini and other demons they devoured Hanuman. Hanuman turned away as a fly through the nostrils and killed them. Now he went, in the night he went as a fly. Hanuman. When there Ravana with Mandodari and all wife, there he went searching. He went to Mandodhari because she is wife. She must be Sita. No. She is not Sita. She is not Sita. She is not here. So in the morning he came to Ashoka vana. There Sita sitting under the Ashoka tree. There are many, these demons. Demons were guarding Sita. Then he went and sat at Ashoka tree. And from there he was talking about Rama. About history of Rama. Wherever other guards, they are not hearing. Only she hears. Then she said: “how can I believe these demons also they come as monkeys?” Anyhow she thought I must give that  ring, Rama’s ring. Finger ring removed. Hanuman saw it. Yes. Then he could understand. So both are definite. Hanuman is Hanuman and Sita is Sita. Now, there is no time. Now he should go. Early. When this was complete. When he completely detected Sita, that Sita is in Ashoka vana, she is, she is. There are archers, demon archers. And she is not understood by them. Vibhisana. Brother of Ravana. And she became, to do that service she became maharaja’s……living for hundred and 68 years. Now, Hanuman said to Sita: “I will go back”. All Ashoka-vana very beautiful garden and he went to see it. When he went to see it all these demons they reported the matter to Ravana. They said: “some monkey has come here and destroyed the garden and we caught hold of him. Now you must punish him.” He came. Then Hanuman was brought before Ravana. Ravana asked: “Who are you? Wherefrom you are coming?” “I am not going to give you any answer. I must be given a seat. You are sitting high throne. Such a level I must sit and give reply.” They said that: “now, it is impossible.” Than said not necessary. His tail. Now he sat on this tail.(making circling motion) And sitting on same level and talking: “Ravana you are a thief. Being a great warrior, and you so much strength and so much gold, so rich you are. Why you have a theft? You have got Mandodari. Wife? Very beautiful. Why you want Sita?” Then Ravana got angry and said: “kill that monkey.” How they can kill? You must catch hold of. He said: “No. No. You must kill. Catch hold of tail and all round the  tail tie his cloth and pour oil to it and ignite. Then the cloth will burn and tail will burn. He will be burned”. They did like that but Hanuman became still bigger and he jumped from one palace to another palace. All the palaces were with fire completely smashed. Lanka destroyed. Many demons died then. “My mission is complete. Now, I am going away”. He took permission of Sita. “I will come. Very soon we are coming. We have to lay a bridge between India and Lanka. Over the bridge we will come. Our monkey force will come and the stones.” So, he went. On the way the enemies were waiting for him. When he went they wanted to kill him. They could not kill. He killed on the other hand. And he reached Rama and told everything. And Sita is happy. Because given, he has given….Rama saw it. Yes. He was very happy to see that Hanuman has done my service. Then, they now construct a bridge. They can not construct pillars. No. It must be floating bridge. Floating bridge. Very wide. And very deep. Floating bridge. Nala, the commander in chief of this army. He said to monkeys: “All of you should bring stones”. And he writes on it Rama. And allow that stone to float on the waters. So, floating bridge was constructed. Seeing that Rama was astonished. What is this? Stones are floating on water. How is it? My name they write – it is floating. Why not I place that? So, he placed that stone and it went down. So they saw: “My name is more powerful than me.” Krishna says that: “my name is more powerful than me”. Now, it was completed. All monkeys, millions of monkeys, with one or two, they with big, big stones they must come that time. They arranged the bridge. When the bridge was over, done, they attacked. Some ten days war. In it Ravana lost his son, his brother Kumbhakarna. Three brothers. But this remains. One remains. He will become the emperor of Lanka. Rama made him the emperor. Now, over. War over. Then they must, he has promised. Hanuman that I will come killing Ravana here and within one year I will take you to Lanka. So, she was happy, now that time has come, Ravana died and now Sita was taken. There, Rama, ignorant people may say so things, so many things. He said: “Sita must be examined by fire.” So, big fire, …., in it fire, dry sticks. Sita jumped to it and within minutes she burned. And Agni-devata came with dazzling Sita. Now in that night they must go to other town. Because Rama has promised, how many years? 14 years. “After 14 years not even one day I will lose. When 14 years completed next day I will be here”. Long distance, very, very, there was Lanka, to come walking. So he brought puspa-viman from Indra. In it he sat. And Vibhisana sat, Hanuman sat and Angada and some other prominent leaders have sat. All of them just before sunrise are there. So Bharata was very happy. All were very happy. So on that day only the incarnation ceremony must be performed. This is how Ravana’s, Rama

Now after days, now Rama was happy. He was happy. And all the subjects were happy. They were very happy. And there is a big feast and all the rishis came. All of them. It was grand success. Ramayana. Ramayana. Ramayana. So Ramayana we have to read first. In your next district were temple is there. Spain. Yes.  People of Spain they are very fond of hearing Ramayana. They say you please tell us about Ramayana and Mahatma Gandhi. I used to tell them. This is how Ramayana’s, then we will come to Mahabharata. Now, in Mahabharata, sravanam, kirtanam visnuh smaranam pada sevanam arcanam vandanam dasyam sakhyam atma-nivedanam. Nine types of bhakti. Nine types of bhakti. Sravanam. Sravanam. Sravanam. Who? Mahabharata. Who heard? Pariksit maharaja. Pariksit maharaja is the son of Abhimanyu. In 14th day of war he died. All the rathis combined and they shot him dead. When Abhimanyu died there is no dynasty, nobody in Kaurava family. At last Aswathama he killed five boys of Pandavas thinking they are the Pandavas. When Duryodhana saw this: “Rascal, I have done great blunder. Great misfortune. I lost. I have this fellow who is unfit”. Then he went away and he sent this brahmastra to kill all the Pandavas. Then Pandava’s son Abhimanyu was and he died. Now his wife was, see her, and he went, this boy who followed whom? Sravanam. He heard. From whom? From Sukadeva Goswami. The son of writer, Vedavyasa. After the birth of Sukadeva, he was going away, and Vyasadeva said: Where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going? Where are you going? He could not meet him. At last he went away. Now he was returning back and saw the damsels were all, maidens were taking bath in Mandakini. Vyasadeva is coming. They thought Vyasa is coming, he will curse us. So, they came immediately to the shore and tied the clothes. When he came near Vyasadeva asked: “why have you tied it so? So early. What happened?” “Yes, because you are coming. You are Vyasadeva and definitely you will curse us”. “Now, did you see a boy of 14 years going this way?” They said: “Yes. But we never felt ashamed to be naked and by taking bath and seeing an old person, very, very old person.” ¸”I am, seeing me, you were ashamed”. “We saw him, but he has no common sense. Who is a man, who is a woman, what should be a woman and what should be a man? He doesn’t know. We saw him like a drink, standing like a drunkard or a beast walking. Beast are walking, what shall they do to us?” Such was? Yes he has no worldly common sense. Cause he is a mahabhagavata. Mahabhagavata. Now, he wrote bhagavata. But one day Narada came to him when he was washing his face. Then he asked: “Swamiji, what happened? I see your face is gloomy. Why? What happened?” Then he said: “You should know. You are Narada. You should know. Because you are the Lord’s beloved servant. Always you will be with him and Lord will be with you. So you can know it.” “Yes. I tell you that you have written Mahabharata and among that Mahabharata you wrote bhagavata also. But, yet bhagavata should be pure without kama, desire, krodha, anger, lobha, greed, moha, forgetfulness, mada, arrogance and malice, matsarya.” These are the six enemies. So, we must keep these six enemies away from our heart. Then only we will be pure. So, he told: “Now, again you should write.” And now Narada, because he is always. Narada is a spaceman. He will be traveling in space. No aeroplane is wanted. He travels wherever he wants. You can travel anywhere. He is always alive. Always. Whenever we want, bhaktas want, he will come. Now he said: “you please do this writing”. Now he wrote bhagavatam. That bhagavatam, first after writing that. He was searching to whom he will speak. He saw maharaja’s family. Abhimanyu’s son was there. He is sitting waiting for, thousands of people were waiting. Where? In …. District. Was sitting there and all the people assembled there. And now, Sukadeva came there

sannidhyat tem aha-yogin
patakani mahanty api
sadyo nasyanti vai pumsam
visnor iva suretarah

My Lord, your appearance will destroy the demons. And when the demons see that he has come to side the danavas, not danavas, the demigods, devas, with full force and full strength they fight.
