Have you seen babaji? Vamsi das. With a beard. He survived upto 85 or so. He was cooking for himself.

At first he was in a temple in Navadvipa town. There are murtis, Radha-Krishna and Gauranga. He never talks to anybody. If anybody asks a question reply he will give to the murties. He never talks. There he cooks. A room was given, he cooks …. There he cooks. Vamsi das babaji maharaja. 

Then he was in the house constructed for him on the banks of river Ganga. There he used to stay. But again after somedays he said: "No. I don't want to live here.“ So a tent was purchased for him. A tent. Small tent. And there was one sevaka who used to do his service. Service means inside that tent, he used to pass urine and stools, put a curtain, and the sevaka knows. He will then clear it. 

When he was in the temple in the rainy season, when the rain comes he wants to take murties out and give them in the rains. In the ropes, tying ropes and give them rainfall. And there stays. … People ask: „Why Maharaja? Is he in need of water?“ „Yes. He is in need of water. You must bathe him always." He will cook. 

Regularly I used to go there for five years. Mornings at eleven I go. And he will never talk to us. He will talk for everybody, he gives reply to that murties. Various persons, as he never talks. Never replies. People say: "Maharaja. You are a vaisnava." Many people come. When he came to the tent, many people come. He will put the screen and cook and eat and after two hours he will open. People will come. People.

One fellow comes and gives a banana. White banana. Lumps of banana. And he ties to it. To tent. These rats, they climb and they eat. And he cuts the tail of that rat. Shows to them all and throws away. Again it will come. Like that. 

Once, one fellow was singing 

hari hari! boro sela marame rahilo

But there ... of east bengal. 

paiya durllabha tanu, sri krsna bhajana vinu, janma mora viphala hoilo

O my Lord, you have given this human body, but though you have given me human body I never do your service. And I feel very much for that loss as if some sela, you cannot put it, you can pull it. If you pull it it will like(shows)

Now a boat man taking some ten people on the boat. Because if he crosses, each gives ten paisa. For that he takes them and when they return from the train he brings them. Many boats are there. Now this fellow has number of passengers. Seeing these passengers, oh, he was very glad. "Oh, I am very glad and fortunate. 
boro sela marame rahilo. " 

Now he said: "Are you suffering? Are you suffering? Are you feeling for that sela? Now today you are happy." 

He never speaks to you. He would speek to that Lord Krishna and Radhika and Mahaprabhu. 

"You say you are suffering. No. no. Today you got more coins. You are happy because you have got more coins, so happily you sing. Not you are weeping for that." He says in his language. ............(citing him) Actually for the Lord who is feeling sorry and weeping for. "Are you weeping? Are you feeling sorry? Feeling unhappy? No. Why do you say boro sela marame rahilo? What sela? What is that? Today you are very happy because you have got more coins. So due to that happiness loudly you are singing on the boat. Fellow you said boro sela marame rahilo." Now he attacking him. But not him. Lord. boro sela marame rahilo. I am suffering. I am suffering because I have taken the birth of a human being but I could not worship my Lord Krishna, so I am very much suffering. "Are you suffering? Today are you suffering? Due to suffering you are weeping for the money today? No. You are happy. Why would you feel unhappy? You have got more money today." 

One day a thief who took away a plate, silver plate. One fellow gave that silver plate. And now he took away. Somebody caught hold of him and he brought that plate. The fellow asked. Now it is reported: "Babaji, this fellow is a thief. He has taken your silvers. Silver plate." So saying he gave that plate there and left him. He went away. He says to him, Krishna:"..........(cities) One thief gives, another thief carries away." He is a thief, he is a thief. He is a thief, he is a thief. Krishna is a thief, he gave it. And thief has come and taken away. He is a thief, he is a thief. 

He never address it to anybody. To Krishna. If you hear. Nobody. Many people would be attending. Nobody will think that he is attacking me. No. Not attacking anyone. Vamsi das. Name is Vamsi das.

Murties. Big, big murties. Do puja, naivedya, dhupa, dipa, aroti – everything he must do. Though servant is there he just put that there and come away. Come out. Previously screen, he won't open the screen and do it. Recently he just opens screen for all to see. Money. Many people will give money to, money there. Somebody will come and(shows the gesture of collecting) and go away. He can not do anything. He was very poor. He never cares. Once he told: "He is a thief and he is a thief." Krishna is a thief and those who give money, a thief, and those who gets money, a thief. He is a thief, he is a thief. Like that he used to address. 

He went from Mayapur to Vrindavan by cart. Bullock cart. He sits on a bullock cart. Three months. Four months. On the way Krishna, Radha and Mahaprabhu, this big(shows). They sit by him. Only he will sit. Servant would walk. And cartsman will drive the cart and he used to look after the cart ... Three months he went and he remained there three months. After three months again he will return. Nine months. 

He said "I saw Nanadarani, Yashoda was churning milk. Churning curd. Preparing buttermilk. Very big! Very big!" He used to say to all. He doesn't know anybody. He doesn't talk to anybody. Anything, if anybody goes there babaji may talk something. He will talk if he sits there one hour, then he will talk to the murties, not to him. He will say something, some people understand, "yes, he has told me". 

I used to go there. Some days I used to get coffee. Servant, he gives coffee. Maharaja. Prepares coffee. Very fine coffee. Very fine coffee. Fine coffee he prepares. He drinks, and after drinking he opens the screen. It is all wonderfull. You cannot understand. He was talking Mymensingh bengali, Maymensingh bengali. It can not be understood even by us. Daily I used to go there and sit half an hour. I had nothing in mind. Just sit. But he is kind towards me. And servant gives coffee. He says yes and no, nothing.... never talks.

Another maharaja went there with a big danda. "Who is this fellow? What is this danda? My Nimai had no danda." Because danda was broken by Nityananda. "Who is this? Who is this?" (shows the trembling hands) He is trembling. What can he say. "Why danda? Why danda?" 

We are also sannyasis, but I never go there with danda. Without danda. No question. This is all Mahapurusha's. 

Some money, daily 25 rupees, 20 rupees, 30 rupees people would throw there and go. And in the evening if any money comes there, sadhu enters there, he will enter and pick up ... and go. He doesn't say anything. He cannot say: "You should not." 

Big plaintain. Bunch of plaintains. Big plant. They will tie to the tent. These rats, they like. And with a stick and after he catches them lift them up. Yes, Mahapurushas. We cannot understand them. What for they are doing that? To understand mahapurusha is very difficult. 

Nobody has gone there? Have you gone there? Have you stayed there? There was another mahapurusha there in the town. And some businessman has constructed three stories building for him. He says: "No. I don't want." He left it. There tent was brought. And when the water comes. Godavari floods. Ganga floods. Big bamboo pillar, big bamoo pillars put. 4. because the tent must be above it. Godavari. 10 feet, 12 feet, 15 feet Ganga water flowing. And in it he will be staying. He will never go anywhere. Always. Never. Nowhere. Many people, they gave him so many because by boat they go and give him. 

The servant was there and he used to do. ... do you learn out of it? If you go to a sadhu, sadhu will never talk to you. What will you do? Never talks. He never talked. He will be talking to the deities. But language you cannot understand. His language. Maymensingh language. "You fellow you are singing. What .. you have? You are happy today because you got some more money. "Everyday takes passengers to other shore of Ganga. Towards the railway station. From there they will go to Krishnanagar(?) The small ... From there they will go distant places. 

You must go to a sadhu. You can not know a sadhu. You only know a sadhu when he blesses you. Unless he blessess you, you can not see a sadhu.. He never talks to you. Never talks. What will you do? There is no need that he should talk to you. There we have to say: "We are misfortunate." Nobody that goes can talk to him. Nobody. We must learn his, study him. You cannot study him, sit there and see what is he doing. I never used to. Two hours used to, and come. Never talks. Thereby you cannot learn anything. Because you want Vamsi das. Listen to a Vamsi das, he isn't alive. 1989 or so he left. Not from here. He went to a village, birthplace. He won't talk. He used to talk only to one person who first constructed for him a three-stories building. Many thought that it is a great business he do by constructing. So, "I will never go there." Yet he should come and he will tell what is wanted. Used to tell to him and he will do it. He listens and carries the order of babaji. 

What benefit do you have, derived now by hearing? Not hearing, you see, no benefit you will get. Only mahatmas. Such mahatmas are so many. Hundreds and thousands. If you go to north. This is now half-year, half, artha-kumbha. Artha-kumbha – six years, purna kumbha twelve years. Once in twelve years the kumbha will be. Prayaga. Prayaga. Ganga, Yamuna and Sarasvati – where they meet. And Haridwar. And another, Godavari also there was. So there are many. People go there. Thousands of people go there for one month. Rajamenthry. People go just to take bath. People go to take bath. See mahatmas. Once in twelve years there is bala(maha)-kumbha. 

In the time of Jawaharlal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru came to the Kumbha. Crowd .... Because he was a great officer. Now, ... police, .... And he was going in line. Not talking. One Saivite, he suddenly came to his front and stood. And he said: "Mahadeva Shambo!" And asked Jawaharlal (pointing a finger at him) "Mahadeva Shambu! Mahadeva Shambo!" He is not doing that. He doesn't leave him. So, at last he was forced to repeat "Mahadeva Shambo!" Then said:"Yes, go. You go." Nobody can ask him to stop. Because they were Nagas. Nagas, they are never afraid of anybody. And Jawaharlal he never says "Mahadeva Shambo!", he doesn't leave. "Mahadeva Shambo!" "Mahadeva Shambo!" If he doesn't repeat it, he doesn't leave him to walk. These Nagas are very, very, very powerful. 

In it, stampede, about 56 people died. Stampede. Old people, old ladies, old man, they go there to die. To die in Ganga. When you cross him, we will die in Ganga. That was then. Because he said: "Yes, I am great." "Are you great because you are a prime minister of India?" He is a devotee of Mahadeva, Shankara. Now, what is to be done? Our human life. God has given us our human life. What have we done? What are we doing? That we must learn there. If you go there you can learn. Take bath in Ganga. Ganga always, Mahadeva, what? Water falls upon his head. Two pots are there. ......... You go and hear. You surrender to sadhus. All of them, those who go, surrender. Sadhus will be across the line. They will go to that place where Parvati sacrifised herself. Her body was burnt. It is about 4 or 5 or 6 miles.

We must go to a sadhu only to see a sadhu. Or hear from him. And his blessing will effectually work. So, we must go there Ganga. You never go to Ganga. You never have Ganga bath. But you go there. Four places. Four places where this Ganga bath is. Ganga, Yamuna, Sarasvati triveni. Allahabad. Even there also. And it is another one. 4 places. Ujjain.( Allahabad, Haridwar, Nasik and Ujjain) But you have to hear, hear from sadhus. What the sadhu says. And you must follow. Ramacandra, went to all those places. When he was in a forest, south India, he went Godavari, only there, no Ganga. He did not go there. South India he travelled. Southindian part. Now, we must surrender to a sadhu. Sadhu must bless me. Unless he blesses me I am under. Sadhu blesses. For the blessing. To achieve the blessing only will you go to the sadhu. To achieve the blessing. When the sadhu blesses. He doesn't want your money. No. He doesn't want. People are waiting and giving, he doesn't want. Always. What is the time now? 18:30. Nine(plane goes at nine).

Swami Maharaja in 71. He went in 66 and he returned in 71. When he was going he ... that bhagavata. 1st canto and 2nd canto he has written and told me: "You come away. We shall ... this." I said: "I am done serving on the banks of Godavari, Rai Ramananda's Gaudiya Math." I was serving there. I said: "How can I go? I am given." After reaching there. Again he came. After one year he came to our Visakhapatnam Math with 20 members. There all the varieties of preparations they do not know. Indian preparations. Very happy and Maharaja there. I want to give feast towards the vaisnavas. Yes, Maharaja, I want to give that feast. After feast Krishna book and five rupees. Mayapur. And the foundation stone for (candrodaya mandir). I main into the pit where they will build. This ... process, vaidik mantras. Now, again 1977 I went to Vrindavana. Maharaja lying on the ... not sitting. Lying. We were with two hundred pilgrims. We came there. And from there we went to Badrinatha. From Badrinatha we returned. By the time Maharaja passed away.(devotees commenting and explaining)

Hare Krishna. You should repeat namam. Those who have taken harinamam daily at least they should do 25000. Two hours. Nityananda prabhu says: "You fellow! You repeat namam! If you repeat namam, I take the responsibility to lift you up. If you don't repeat namam I shall give you (shows a stick gesture)." Cane is not small. Very big cane. They are afraid of him. They all should repeat namam. Now, we have to do namam. We must not talk evil of others. We surrender to them.

dainya, doya, anye mana, pratistha-varjan
cari gune guni hoi' koroha kirtan

Dainya. We must be humble. Daya – most kind to others. Humble. Anyamana, pratistha-varjan – we must give respect to all. We must not disrespect. Don't, for the name sake. For the show should not do namam. With all sincerity. Sincerely you do namam. Mahaprabhu said. Krsnotkirtana-gana-nartana-parau. Vaisnavas, they used to do. Always they do namam. Never care for the food. Never cared for. Used to do namam. Then fixed namam. They do 1 lakh namam daily. And then they sing of other vaisnavas, glories. And they do sastang-dandavats. We cannot do sashtang dandavat. They used to do. They never used to spend even one hour. No. Night no sleep. Haridasa Thakura was doing three lakhs namam daily. He does everything. Three lakhs. Because it is most important. No man can do three lakhs namam daily. We cannot do that. When he passed away Mahaprabhu came. Carries the body, dance and took that body to the sea. There he got him, built ...(samadhi) and from there on a chariot they brought to a present place where he was placed. Mahaprabhu has done this. On the day when gundica-mandir where he has to give prasad for several thousand people. Mahaprabhu said: "I will give. Nobody should give. I will beg and I will get." And he should distribute. He distributed it. Because Haridas Thakur's ... so all took prasad. He begged ... ... to give prasad today. Haridasa passed away. So gave whatever they have got. "No. No. From each one or two." Because the Maharaja has ordered to get Jagannatha prasad – for five hundred people mahaprasad should be sent. And Mahaprabhu distributed prasadam in his hands. Never allowed to distribute, "I will distribute." After distributing it he sat to take food. Because without his taking food how can they take? Those who are waiting said: "No." Took prasad and went away to his hut. There he took. We are not fortunate to get his darshan. Haridas thakur. Haridas, not Mahaprabhu. Mahaprabhu where he disappeared. They say he disappeared in Gopinatha temple. You went there. Vaisnavas all: "Sir! Mahaprabhu ordered all of you should come to take prasad." "I will distribute prasad." They take food – all varieties. Five hundred people. They said: No, you must gave(take ?) Because he can do wonders. He is the Lord, Supreme Lord. 

Now we must perform nama-sankirtan. Japa. Daily at least 25000. 25000 one can. 25000 how much time? Two hours. Thorough the day. You can do morning and evening. Chit-chat. They will chit-chat. Doing harinamam they chit-chat. Never. That is not allowed. You must repeat namam only. Don't talk. Repeat. Now we never, we see some fellow has taken namam but he is not doing namam. He doesn't care. Hare Krishna. You say Hare Krishna now. Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare. (Bhajan starts)
